To use the adapter, simply plug the adapter into your computer and install the driver. Our driver is designed to work with screen readers and can be installed using just your keyboard!

Part 1. Know about your adapter

This section introduces the adapter's package content and appearance.

1. Unpack Your Adapter

Your package contains an adapter and installation guides.

2. Appearance Introduction

The adapter is a small, lightweight device that features both USB-A and USB-C connectors on one end, with a removable shell. Its compact, thumb-sized body is made of solid plastic. The main, external connector is the traditional, larger rectangular USB-A connector, which fits into USB-A ports. When you remove the outer USB-A connector, a smaller hidden USB-C connector is revealed.

Part 2. Get Started

Before You Start

a. Ensure that your operating system meets the compatibility requirements:

  • Supported operating system: Windows 10/11
  • Supported MLO operating system: Windows 11 (Version 24H2 and later)

b. Ensure that your Router or Access Point supports the Wi-Fi 7 standard and the network uses WPA3 encryption.

Step 1. Connect your Adapter to a Computer

To connect to a USB-A port: Insert the adapter directly into a USB-A port on your computer.

To connect to a USB-C port: Remove the outer USB-A connector to reveal the smaller USB-C connector, then insert the adapter into a USB-C port on your computer.

Note: 
• It is recommended to connect the adapter to a USB 3.0 port.
• If you are experiencing an unstable wireless connection with your adapter, try a different USB port on your computer.

Step 2. Install Drivers

a. Go to My Computer or This PC.

b. Double click the TP-Link CD Drive then run SetupInstall.exe to install driver.

Note:

•  If you cannot find the setup program, please download the driver at www.tp-link.com/support. You can also check for new releases and download the latest drivers on this website.

•  If an unknown publisher message pops up, select Yes to continue. 

•  If Windows User Account Control requires admin credentials, type user name and password of your Windows administrator account. 

Step 3. Join a Wireless Network

a. Click the network status icon on the taskbar.

b. Select your Wi-Fi network, click Connect, and enter the password when prompted.
